Establishing Shot - Exterior Drone
Camera hovers over rural church. Slowly pans forward. In background light strings play Eruption lick by Van Halen at ¼ speed, washed out cello accompanying. Slowly cars begin to appear into parking lot. First sedans, then exotic cars, then limousines. Camera sweeps downwards to WS-> MWS, follows ageing rockers in garish suits entering main doors of church. We see over their shoulders and into their streaky bald heads. Upon entering, people move out of shots to right and left.
Interior church
Camera continues tracking down isle resting on medium shot of black casket with frankenstrat on stand to the left. Hold on shot 15 seconds. Coughing noise and shuffling feet heard over continuous string music.
Montage
Cut to high angle close-up of fingernail painted and many braceleted hand reaching for and grabbing neck of guitar. Cut to same hand flicking standby switch and turning volume knob to 10. Buzz of electronic feedback increases. Cut to curly yellow patch cord being plugged into guitar
Medium L->R Pan of first two rows of pews. We see ageing rockers crying, whipping tears from eyes, mascara running (from both genders), consoling, learning on each other.
Close up of guitar players neck hand stretching fingers, mimicking song to come. Cut to close up of pick hand mimicking picking pattern.
Extreme close up of guitar players blurry tear filled eyes staring straight ahead then looking upward with intensity. We hear screeching pick harmonic as eyes grow increasingly intense.
Jump cut to same teary eyes but cold and emotionless. In new location but can't tell where.
High angle MS of black guitar case being laid upon glass countertop.
Cut to Medium shot of sweaty, open shirt, gold-wearing pawn shop broker opening case. Case facing him, audience cannot see. Eyes dart down in amazement.
Shot-reverse-shot of guitar player and pawn broker negotiating sale. Guitar player looking ever more desperate with each passing moment. He is cold and emotionless. Despite brokers attempt to rile him, he speaks in a beaten monotonous tone.
Broker: Couldn't forget him quick enough could you? Eh champ?
Guitar player: Just give me what I came for.
Broker: alright alright I suppose I can trust that you ain't trying to pull one ov'r on me here is ye?
Guitar player: you know what it is
Broker: I thinks I knows, but ye never be too sure now days. Don't have no certificate of authenticity does ye? You knows the type thats gonna take this off my hands is gonna want one.
Guitar player: If you don't want it....
Over shoulder shot of guitar player slamming closed case.
Cut to close up of painted-nails and bracelet hand pulling case screen right. Small hairy hand reaches out and stops the pull, moving case screen left.
Broker: Sal give the man what he came for.
Fade to black Sounds of cash register and door bell ringing as guitar player leaves.
Wide shot of broker in back stock room. Instruments, guns, watches, a motorcycle surround him. He is starring into the guitar case before him with a devilish grin on his face. Reaches down.
Cut to close up of hand reaching into tool bag, jump cut to wire cutters cutting strings off guitar, jump cut to screwdriver POV unbolting neck. Quick cuts between POV and extreme closeup of brokers eyes, sweaty brow and dismantling of guitar.
Cowboy shot as broker stands up and rips neck off guitar body.
Cut to close up of brokers face, eyes widen evil grin. Cut to hand reaching into the guitar neck, extracting a small rolled up piece of paper.
Overhead shot of cluttered table full of pawn shop items, broken electronics, adding machine, coins, stacks of cash. Arm sweeps across shot clearing items off table with loud crashes.
Close up of hand unrolling paper on table revealing schematics of unknown device.
Cut to wide shot of broker from behind sitting at table, lit from desk lamp, now on the floor, silhouetted. Camera slowly pans back as man now visibly sobbing with head in hands.
Fade to black. Jarring sound of muscle car engine starting. Close up of hand releasing keys in the ignition after starting car. Key chain of the frankenfender dangles as original version of Eruption plays.
Fade to black.
